Darkness and Light

In the wake of tragedies, news of social injustice, and daily suffering across our world, may we cling to hope in God who knows it all better than we could possibly imagine and in whom we must continue to trust.  May we also cling to the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, who, too, lived in dark times, and who, too, believed in the Light:

Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

These words come from his address “Where Do We Go From Here?” in 1967.  Here we are, 46 years later, asking the same question.  We have much work to do, friends; let us arm ourselves with light and with love.
