reflecting on everyday grace

I believe in miracles

This Thanksgiving week has been a week of miracles.  On Monday, I was blessed to be able to celebrate 32 years on this earth, and I did so with students, colleagues, friends, and family throughout the day and into the evening.  What a gift.

The real gift came with the news that the treatments my sweet papa has been undergoing since July for his bladder cancer have worked…they have worked!  He had a biopsy done in mid-November after the detection of some abnormal cells during an earlier check-up, but after a thorough investigation of his bladder, prostate, and surrounding ‘hood, the results came back BENIGN, I repeat BENIGN.  When asked about how this could happen – about the presence of abnormal cells just a few weeks back – Papa’s doctor could not offer an explanation.

We believe this is nothing short of a miracle from our gracious God.

HALLELUJAH!

Our little Trio is so very thankful to our loving, faithful God and his battalion of prayer warriors, and we rejoice in the miracle of a new day.

Every day is Thanksgiving.  Every new day is a miracle.

“Prayer is sitting in the silence until it silences us, choosing gratitude until we are grateful, praising God until we ourselves are a constant act of praise.”
-Fr. Richard Rohr

  1. Thank you, my precious baby girl, for all your caring and prayer sharing. The real miracle is the power of prayer and the faith behind it! I love you, sweetheart!
